About the Artist

A'Niecia is a Black woman who grew up in the South. Her passion for art in childhood deepened as she matured. During her teenage years, she drew portraits of women inspired by magazines and her imagination, always intrigued by women as her subject matter. In 2014, she enrolled at Valdosta State University to study fine arts. As her education progressed, her artwork became introspective, focusing on her experiences as a black woman and exploring themes of perception through the male gaze and her self-identity. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Fine Art in 2020, amid the pandemic. It was during this time that she drew inspiration from her sketchbook to create apparel designs, which ultimately led to the founding of Lady Venus Creations.
